If you’re asking yourself whether now is a good time to rent, the answer is no.

Why? The Census Bureau recently released their 4th quarter median rent prices for 2017, and as you can see in the graph at 0:45 in the video above, rent prices steadily increased from 1988 to 2017 and show no signs of slowing down.

If you’re faced with the decision of whether to renew your lease or not, you might be pleased and surprised to know that you have the ability to purchase a home on your own instead.

Maybe that’s why they call it the American Dream—you have a place to call your own, you can decorate it how you want, you never have to wait on a landlord to fix a maintenance issue, you can put your children in the school system of your choice, etc. The advantages to home ownership go on and on and on.

Owning your own home also protects you from rising rent costs and locks in your housing expenses once you buy the home. If you’re ready and willing to buy, meet with a local real estate professional who can help you determine whether you’re able to buy.

Remember, there are a few zero-money-down lending options you can use to buy your home. The FHA loans that most of our clients use only require a down payment of 3.5%. You don’t need to be sitting on a fortune just to purchase a home. Our experts can give you more details, and we can introduce you to a trusted mortgage professional who can answer any financing questions you may have.
