What can you do to make your home look its best during the winter months?

There’s never a bad season to have your home on the market. But, during the winter months, there are some additional steps you can take to make your home as appealing as possible.

In winter, your home should be a welcome contrast to the dreary weather as buyers come to tour it. Today, I’d like to share a few suggestions on how to achieve this.

First of all, make sure you clear snow and ice from the driveway and any sidewalks leading up to the house. Additionally, make sure the landscaping looks manicured. Even though there are no leaves on your trees, your yard should still look well taken care of.

Additionally, take advantage of natural lighting. Keep your curtains and shades open during showings. You should also turn on the lights within your home to make it look even brighter.

Another great way to add cheer to your home is by utilizing accent pieces with pops of color. Throws, candles, and pillows are all great options.

If you are a pet owner, make sure there are no lingering odors. Using mildly scented candles or having freshly baked goods out for the buyers can provide a welcoming touch and also mask unwanted scents.

Your guests will feel welcome and comfortable in your home when it smells as fresh as it looks. Adjusting the thermostat to around 68 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit will also make them feel cozy and at home.

A warm home gives the impression that your property is well-insulated and energy efficient. On that subject, be sure to remove any draft stoppers from view before showings.

On top of everything we’ve already discussed, it is also essential that you work with a proactive Realtor who is willing to spend money on marketing your home. My team and I would love to have the opportunity to show you what we can do for you.
